The house proudly stands in over five acres of grounds and established gardens which provide a riot of colours throughout the seasons. Iain and Jackie Garside have been hoteliers in the Lake District for over twenty years, the last 13 creating Fayrer Garden House Hotel into the superb three star hotel which it is today.
Many of our guests have followed us over the years and we are delighted to say over 60% of our business is repeat or recommended. Our policy is one of continuing improvement without jeopardising the traditional values of a high quality, family run country house.

he elegant lounges have open fires and are very comfortable to sit, relax and unwind, perhaps enjoy a coffee with the morning paper, or afternoon tea after a good walk. Dinner in our superb restaurant willbe the highlight of your stay.
Fayrer Garden House Hotel is proud of its superb team in the kitchen. Led by Edward Wilkinson they create the culinary delights that tempt guests back to Fayrer Garden House Hotel year after year.
Indeed, our quality of food has been recognised and highlighted in many local and national guides including coveted AA Rosettes. Vegetarian and special diets are interestingly catered for.
There is a special ambience in the beautiful air conditioned restaurant overlooking the lake, where a pianist plays on some evenings.

he lake provides a wide and varied choice of water sports - rowing, sailing and motor boats, water skiing, jet skiing and wind surfing. Alternatively why not take a cruise on one of the famous Lake Steamers or instead of driving by car, really enjoy the day out and go sightseeing to Ambleside,
Beatrix Potter's House at Sawrey or the National Park Centre at Brockhole using the water buses. We can also arrange for you to be collected from the hotel and taken on various tours by mini-coach.

Garden Side Rooms
Face the garden side of the house, most have a pleasant outlook and are available in doubles, twins or family rooms. Some on the ground floor are suitable for the less able-bodied.
Standard Rooms
have all the same facilities but are smaller and have restricted views.
Lake View Rooms
with whirlpool bath, some with 4 poster bed, some ground floor rooms with French windows opening on to the terrace.
Lake Side Superior Rooms
elegant more spacious rooms, most with 4 poster beds, whirlpool bath/shower, trouser press, bathrobes, luxury toiletries, C.D. players, mineral water etc.
All 24 bedrooms are en suite with bath or shower, decorated and furnished to the highest standard with colour T.V., hairdryers, complimentry tea facilities and dial telephones. Bedrooms face either the garden or the lake.

Take Exit 36 then
A591 past the turn-off to Kendal
to roundabout, then B5284
signposted Crook and Bowness
to end (7.5 miles).
At stop sign turn left onto
Lyth Valley Road,

yards on the right.
M6 from North:
Take Exit 40 (Penrith),
then A66 towards Keswick,
turn left at Threlkeld
signposted Windermere
through St. JohnÕs in the Vale.
A591 to Windermere,
turn right at mini roundabout
towards Bowness on Windermere
- right again at mini island
then first left (Kendal Rd),
A5074 for 1 mile.
